Falling

This series of paintings grew out of an event that happened when I was a boy of about five. I was in the woods behind our house and saw a mourning dove fall to the earth and land lifeless at my feet. All these paintings of various falling birds came from that moment. Most of these paintings are a spiritual trinity of bird, sky, earth, or sea.
