Watercolors

Watercolor has always been my most loved medium and, for me at least, the magic of watercolor stands right up there along side oil and maybe even sits at a higher place. But, like the oils, these watercolors are not "landscapes" or plein air paintings as we've come to know them. Nor do I work from photographs. In my studio I first prepare a quick sketch of a place or an event from my past and then each painting becomes a mantra of memory.
